Default JK axles

Just wondering what you guys think.

I've found a decent deal on an '08 Unlimited Sahara and might buy it. Biggest problem is it has the 3.21 gears.

If I decide to regear, I'll most likely lock 'em front and rear, too, and upgrade the front to a D44. Since I'm already gettin' one axle, would it be completely stupid to just buy both front/rear as shown here http://www.4wheelparts.com/jeep-parts-list.aspx?jeep-subcat=353&plID=354 and just sell the JK D44/D30 to another Jeeper?

The newer D44/D30 combo is stronger than '06 and earlier, right?

Thoughts? Comments?

You have to replace front and rear gears.

The D60s may be rear only though. They put the D60 rears in the J8. The pictures of the mopar D60s that are for the JK have been rear axles.
That is still a good option though for someone like you that has the Spyntech front hubs because the D60 rears are 5 on 5.5.

Well I wouldnt suggest trying your first regear on a JK, guys that have done gears for years have trouble getting these gears right.

I wouldn't completely rule it out. The D60 rear is a production Jeep part for Mopar due to the J8, and any D60 front would have to come from a 3/4 or 1 ton full size rig. Maybe they will do it as an aftermarket optional item, but I was under the impression that Chrysler was cutting back on the Mopar aftermarket unless it was a production item somewhere.
