JK buying advice
Hi guys I've done a bit of reading about Jeep Wranglers and now I'm slightly nervous to buy one due to the fuel cost for daily running.
I'm wanting to replace my wife's car with a 2 door rubicon for under $15,000. I see the Petrol 3.8 is very heavy on fuel and that I should not buy an older diesel 2.8 if I'm correct? We will still have my hilux d/c as our main vehicle.
Are the JK expensive to maintain? Can she use it for her work it's delivery flowers Belarus
Which model would you suggest for that price and what common problems should I check for?
Any advice is welcome!

As far as fuel economy goes, keep in mind that many of us do just about everything humanly possible to make our jeeps as inefficient as possible in every way possible, so a lot of what you read may be self inflicted pain. Extra weight, big tires, etc. The JK was solid model. I'd keep it to '13+ if you're looking so you get a 3.6L engine and redesigned seats. They're pretty easy to maintain and work on if you're just a little bit handy. Also, over the 11-year run, there's not much that hasn't been covered on the forums, so problem solving is typically easy to find help with.
I agree with resharp001. The 2013+ is a better year range. I know I wanted the 3.6 but, with my budget at the time, could not afford one. I ended up finding a 2010 in great shape and am real happy with it. We also have a 2015 Grand Cherokee Altitude Edition with the 3.6. They are very nice & responsive motors.
Also, something else to keep in mind is that she will now be driving a solid-axled "box" down the highway. Not quite as comfortable as a vehicle with independent front suspension and consequently the "box" is not the most aerodynamic shape for fuel economy.
Good luck in your search. Take your time and find the right one. Welcome and once you do find it, post up pics!

I have 8 yrs and 107,000 miles of gas data from my previous 2012. If memory is correct, I averaged about 17.3 mpg. So that's the number you should use if you are worried about how much you will spend on gas. The models prior to 2012 will be about 10% worse in mpg. As many others on here would say, if you are worried about the cost of gas, a Wrangler may not be the right vehicle for you.

Out of all the used JKs I’ve seen listed I am beginning to think the Diesel engine model is a unicorn. I’ve yet to see one and only hear about them rarely here from members in Europe or elsewhere in the world.
If fuel efficiency is a major concern don’t buy a wrangler.

Purchased my 2015 JK 2dr Sport during the holidays in 2017 off a returnee lease. It had 36,000 miles on it Cost $ 21 K. The Jeep dealer had three he wanted to move. 2 1/2 years later not one problem. New brake pads and tires is all I needed so far. It has only one recall, for the airbags. Yes it uses a lot of gas but it makes up for it in how much fun it is to drive. Good luck!
I get about 17 to 18 average on mine. If I drive fast on the hwy the gas goes down. I have pretty much stock everything and the engine is great to me. My wife has the 3.6 and it is better in performance and gas MPGs but I paid a lot less for my my wrangler! HA As said above, if one of your top decisions is MPG the wrangler may not be top on your list.
