JK Price
I want a JK, but have a budget of around $10,000. I'm willing to wait a while, so does anyone have an idea of when I might be able to find one near 10 grand? mid 2011 maybe...?

Um, 10K is not much to work with. One for 10K will need a lot of work, you might try daveysjeeps. (They are in Ohio)

That seems low unless you find a very very high millage one.

not rediculously low. there are some 2007's on craigslist at around $17000 now
Jeeps hold their resell value really well, so finding one that cheap would be pretty rare. |
Save it in a high yield savings account (Money Market or whatever), make payments to yourself that would equal the amount for a monthly payment on a new JK, and put that money into the same account. When you have enough for a new or slightly new JK, buy it out right with cash!
You won't have a monthly payment, it can't get repo'd and you'll have a newer model than the rest of us! :brows: |
ten grand, I think you'll be waiting for about 5 more years. Have you looked at TJ's??
EDIT: at least where I am anyways |
The lowest I have seen is for ones that have salvage titles and that does not always mean they are in bad shape...I saw one that looked great the other day for $14K for a 4 door

good luck with that! high miles or body damage is what ur looking at

Just my two pennies
If I had ten k, flat out. I would buy a late nineties tj, rebuild that awesome 4.0 hook it up head to toe and hit the trail while all the jeepers get green with envy. Then again, if a JK is what you are after keep saving bro. I picked up my 07 for 15 k
|
Your best bet is to wait for gas to go back up to $3.50 and for there to be concern that Jeep is going bankrupt. That seemed to work well for a few folks here. :bleh::beer:
Could really find a decent TJ for 10k  |
Wait, wait, wait...
High milage, dented dinged and scratched up, holes in the top, and to finish it off... 2 wheel drive:rotflmao2: |
Here's a Sahara, and you don't even have to fold the window down to get a breeze
http://erepairables.com/salvage-cars-detail?make=Jeep&model=Wrangler&year=2007&type=SUV &vid=32237 This is probably the best source for 10k JKs for the next 5 years or so: http://erepairables.com/salvage-cars?make=Jeep&model=Wrangler&saletype=Buy+it+Now |
I'd buy one for 10k just to beat on.. Heck, I sold my mostly stock 95 YJ with 190k on the clock for 9k last year, it sold fast, I bet I could have asked 10k and got it just as easy.
Nice Jeeps under 15k sell fast around here, I'm actually thinking about selling my 79 Golden Eagle now and I expect it will bring 7k being a V8 and clean rig. |

That's why I bought a new 2010. $20,900 and $500 in accessories. Can sell in a few years for a bit less and will be fine. |

$10K might get you someone else's headache. I highly doubt you'd get a JK for that price.
I hate to tell you but I spent $23K out the door for my 07 Sahara but it only had 9K miles on it. |
About a year and a half ago I bought a 2007 X 2dr manual. It had about 23k miles on it. No real problems. The previous owner had put 18" Sahara wheels and tires on it (wouldn't have been my choice, but better than the steelies with slicks) and Herculined the interior. I paid about $13,500 for it. It took me a while to find it, but my patience paid off.
