Default JK road trip cross country

Hey guys... So I'm taking a road trip cross country in my 2012 Rubicon Unlimited. From New Jersey to Cali and back, with some stops along the way. 25 days on the road. Pretty much stock rubi.
So I'm looking for any suggestions, advise, places to go, what to do and what not to do.

Departure date is July 16th and arriving back into jersey on August 8th.

Thank you in advance for anything you have to offer. Happy wheelin and tread lightly.

Yeah, take lots of pictures. But I also recommend hitting route 14, and doing Rushmore and especially Yellowstone. A Jeep is the ultimate for that trip. You drop the top, and you can pull over anytime, anywhere, and pop up out the open top to take those pictures. If you have really good binoculars, make sure to take them, or if you have a high quality rifle scope you don't mind mounting again when you get home, take it off and take it with. There will be things you'll want to see at a distance, especially in Yellowstone. Like the wolves. And if you see lots of vehicles pulled over in any certain spot, that's a sure sign of something to see, like the wolves. Most of the people are super nice, and if you don't have binoculars or anything, most will offer you a look through theirs. Also, rt14 seems to be in a perpetual state of construction up in the mountain passes, and some of it was dirt and mud and ruts last time I went through, so you might get a chance to bog right on the route.

X2 on Yellowstone definitely worth the trip. You can also visit Black Hill SD, A lot of cool places in Utah Moab of course but there is also Zion, Bryce Canyon, Coral pink sands park The last three can be visited by staying in Kanab Utah. You can also visit the Grand Canyon from there too. Of course there is Vegas on the way too. On the return trip try some of the old Route 66 for a few scenic items. There is the half buried Cadillacs in Texas, Jackrabbit trading post in AZ ect... They have the Route 66 Adventure Guide available too. It's a great country get out there! Drove out to Utah from Florida two years ago had a blast just try not to be too structured on your time line. Leave some flexibility cause you don't know you might find some cool spots you did not know about.

If you go to Yellowstone hit Beartooth Pass to the northeast. Very cool drive.

Unless you're taking this trip mid-fall, I'd avoid the southern route as it will be hot. Temps in Vegas are over 105 and will stay there until mid September. This is all across the southwest. If you don't mind the heat, then there is a lot to see along the southern route. If you travel I-40, you could also see the Meteor Crater, Mammoth Caves, and other tourist attractions. But once, again, I'd go the northern route and head to Washington and take the coast roads along the Pacific to California.

Unfortunately we will not be visiting Yellowstone due to time restrictions. I am truly upset about it but have to sacrifice somewhere along the way.
we're heading to Cali and back. Heading northwest going and southeast coming back. Hittin Cleveland, Chicago, S.Dakota, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Cali, going then Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, New Orleans, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, on the way back. I know I'm missing some important stops along the way but had to sacrifice some destinations cause of time. You guys are great keep em coming as take off for this trip starts in 9 days. Thanks again and happy wheelin

Make sure to see Tahoe when you get out west.

Really jealous. I've been craving a long road trip.
