I just saw a mod in the "Write Up" section and it made me start this thread.
Things on the JK I got rid of and don't think are necessary. Here is a list of stuff that I removed and never have needed since:
The really long screw in things to hold the freedom tops down... gone.
The torx bolts in the door hinges that you have to remove to take the doors off... gone.
The rubber "nipples" on the hood... gone.
It's not on the list yet, but the carpet is getting on my nerves so maybe soon.
I've had my JK since Oct. 19th 2006 and the stuff above was all removed in the spring of 07 and I've never had an issue with any of it. I thought the top might leak without those screw things, but nothing... not the car wask or even winter affected it.
The hinge screws??? I'm not even sure why DCX puts them on... they're useless.
If the doors are closed, they're locked. If they're open, I'm getting in.
Now the nipples might be a different story for some of you but I NEVER ever plan on folding my windshield so I got tired of worrying about them. Everyone says "doesn't water get into your engine bay?"
That's hilarious!!
So what do you guys think could be, or you have already, removed??? and why???

I removed the Rubicon stickers as soon as I got home from the dealership.
Why? Because they are ugly and I don't care to impress people who are impressed by stickers. Anyone who knows what a Rubicon is doesn't need stickers on the hood to tell what model Jeep I have.

Whoops... I forgot to list that...
I also removed all of the stickers on the inside (sunvisors) and out (Sahara, unlimited, etc). I even got rid of the "JEEP" on the grill and the "Trail Rated" badge. Now the refridgerator in my garage is apparently built by Jeep and it's trail rated.
I mean really... if you don't know it's a Jeep, you don't need to know. My painted fenders should tell anyone in the know that it's a Sahara.
But I do this on everything I drive. I hate all of that "badging" stuff. It's a good thing I don't have a GM product now that they put a GM badge on everything they build. How silly is that? Hey GM here's a cost savings idea...

That's how I drive mine all the time... I just stuff a little wash towel in there to stop the rattle.

I agree... and I also removed the dealer license plate frame. Look, if you want to pay me or give me a discount to advertise for you then maybe. But to just put that stuff on and especially the dealers that have their own logo stickers??? Come on?? I think most people don't realize those are just stickers. I can't imagine why people leave them on without getting some kind of compensation.
