Default JK VS Flood

Hey so I have a weird facination with JKs driving through floods haha so I saw this video and was wondering if this Jeep is stock. The video description is in Spanish so I can bearly read it. So is it stock? And if it is why do some STOCK JKs get the water all the way to the hood and it hydrolocks and some times it doesn't?

According the comments posted the guys says its a stock Sahara, in the description it just says that they were crossing a flooded streets with cars floating and that the jeep is 4x4 which made it through with no problems.

Usually the reason people hydrolock is because they hit the water at a fast speed, thats usually a surefire way to wreck your jeep. The biggest concern lies with the airbox, if water gets in there, you are in trouble.

In this video the waters about as deep as what I've trekked through before, it looks like they are submerged deep but its really the jeeps force pushing the water making a wave. My jeep is pretty stock minus rims tires btw.

Wow that's impressive! So I shouldn't drive in the right lane when it rains hard through the puddles? Because that's fun haha

His hood got submerged even at slow speed. He was EXTREMELY lucky not to have hydrolocked.

Get a snorkel, extend your breathers, waterproof everything else if you want to do that.

Bottom of the headlights at a slow speed is a safe bet, not submerging the hood...

My rule of thumb is to stick my head out and see if the water is getting close to extending past the height of my tires, that's when I know it's too deep. It's a lot of fun though!

I hear that rule about not letting the water go over the tires and a to go slow a lot. I'll stick to that.! Yeah I don't know how that guy didn't mess his Jeep up. That video on here is crazy! That's the first video I saw that got me into Jeeps treading water in the first place lol thanks for sharing and the good input
