Default JT Tailgate...???

Does anyone know where I can get one of these tailgates?

It's almost the same as the JK's rear gate, the biggest difference is that it does not have the vent in it, which you need to have so air has an escape route when you close the doors and don't blow out a window. Don't laugh, that's why the vent is there, all vehicles have it, you just can't see it on most.

I never understood why they moved those vents from the corners of the hard top where they were up until about 02 on the TJs. It seemed to work better there and was less likely to get blocked.

Is the vent only necessary for hard tops? Just wondering if I can cover it without worrying about any problems.

The vent is used for the A/C & heater when on the fresh air mode, for circulation and helps with equalizing the pressure when closing the doors.

It would still be used for the fresh air vent and heater, but I'm sure you could live with out it.
