Speaking of refinancing......I was going to do this awhile ago until the bank found a problem with "my" credit. I say "my" because it wasn't mine. Some other guys name and his bad credit was showing up on my report. Anyway, that was awhile ago and I finally got it taken care of. So help me out here guys. I've been paying 6.9% for almost 3 years now. I think it's down to about $7K. I "think" I can refinance at 4.5%. Is it still worth the hassle?

usually yes! refi on cars is not like a mortgage...there aren't usually any fees or anything like that. you will want to avoid their temptation to extend the terms to lower payments...just keep the same term for the remaining balance and your payment should be substantially lower!

That's a nice package. I got 0% at the end of 08, but for 36 months. That's ok, I want to pay it off fast anyway. This is the first vehicle in a long line, that I have obtained without interest. Love it.

...they could give me 3.9% for 60 months or $750 off, but not both ,through chrysler.

...so they found me a conventional loan (through u.s. bank) at 3.9% and i got the $750. off.

...im happy. no penalty for pre-payment of loan.

...i'll have this thing knocked down in 3 years.

I just refinanced my '08 last month with Capital One Auto Finance. Managed to drop my APR 1.75% and cut 3 months off my loan and only have my payment increase by $6 per month.

Guess I should feel lucky I nabbed mine last February when Jeep was running that nutty Employee Pricing ++ with the 0.0% financing for 48 months. They knocked $6k off the sticker price plus a little more because it was a leftover '08 base model. I didn't want the higher payments (Vs. 60 months), but who can argue with borrowing free money. Then Mr. Obama let me deduct my sales tax on it as well.

Been driving it for over a year now with racking up 21k miles so far........and the trade in value is still worth more than I payed to drive it off the lot. Deal of a lifetime.
