Default To keep or not to keep, theres the question...

Hey Fellows, i need your point of view, i currently own a 09 rubi, stock but has given me lots of fun times in the last years i owned it. I am about to join a 2 year program in my company in which i will be traveling around the world 50%+ of my time. I have a wife and 2 kids so my time at home will be solely dedicated to them.

So the question is , should i keep the Jeep, knowing i might not hit the trails in 2 years and will be parked most of the time?!?

Whats your opinion??

Thanks,

G

Is it paid for?
If you're making payments, sell it. If not, keep it.

Who says you can't use the jeep to go out and spend time with the family. Unless if course they don't care for jeeps. But as mentioned above if your making payments then it would probably benefit you financially to sale it. Also in a couple years the next model should come out and you might like it so would be a great time to buy

Kinda in the same boat as you but I will not get rid of my jeep ( now if it was bone stock then maybe ) right now because of my job and my commute I have to plan something to do just to drive the jeep

I maybe have put 700 miles on it over the last year and half , it spends more time in the garage hook up to a battery tender more then anything now

its all paid since i bought it, i got a great deal when i acquire it used and now i could possibly get almost as much as i paid if i sell it. so financially it makes sense to sell it but i would have bought a prius if that was my main concern

i am just worried it gets wasted just sitting there, i will feel bad,

but its hard to let it go...

My advice...start your new job and see how it goes for a couple of months. Your answer of whether or not you should sell the Jeep will probably come to you then.

Minimal depreciation just from a little age. Your boys will obviously miss you, it might make it easier for them having it around since you all shared it.

I'd sell it. It's worth more now than it will be worth in a couple of years. And it sure won't help the vehicle if it's just sitting around for that time......not to mention if it's being stored inside or left out in the sun and weather for that time. When you get back from your travels, you can buy another....used or new if possible.
