I bought it for my 2012 jk. I keep vehicles way past 300,000 miles. Gonna run it thru its course. My local dealer is cool with my planned mods and offroading will be minimal. I bought it because I've always wanted one. It's my daily driver and I put an average of 27,000 miles a year on it, I thought the warranty would be used on my part. I payed 1600 for it after negotiations.

Huge difference between "lifetime" and "extended". All warranties are a gamble for both sides. For lifetime, the dealer only needs to gamble that you will sell the vehicle before anything breaks down. For an extended warranty, they only need to gamble whether something will break before a certain number of miles. Doesn't make a difference in that case who the owner is.

I have the extended lifetime on my 08. it all depends on your local dealer as to what they will do for you. So far I have had good luck with a local dealer here with mine. I have about 50,000 miles and just got it back last week after having them replace a leaking power steering pump and locker wires I ripped out on a trail on the differential. I have a lot of mods on mine and I do all my own maintenance but keep good records.

Good to know. I'll have to check with my local dealer...hopefully they won't be sour that I bought somewhere else & mods won't be an issue (main concern is lift & tires).
