Default Lifetime warranty ??'s

I know they have the lifetime warranty for the 2007's but are they on any other years?

Are they transferable?

If so, what are the dis-qualifiers? I'm sure there are alot. I know lift and aftermarket, but is there any sort of inspection every XXXX miles or it is voided?

I found a 1 owner bone 2008 stock rubicon but has 115k miles on it. If that warranty would still be valid for me, then dont see the mileage as an issue. Any other thoughts or opinions?

Default Extended Warranty

I was told that it was only transferrable to a family member when I bought my Jeep. My situation was slightly different as I purchased the lifttime warranty on my 2010, it my be different for the earlier years where lifetime was standard warranty.

The factory lifetime warranty was on some 2007 and 2008s. It is NOT transferrable to anyone, anytime. Original purchaser only.

That was a powertrain warranty only as well. With that many miles, pretty much everything else that moves on the vehicle is going to be in need of replacement.

I was suprised at how much the power train warranty incompased. Even more surprised when I used it on a exhaust leak a couple months ago. Saved me over $400.

I have an unlimited bumper to bumper on my 12. It's only for the original owner has a $100 deductible and doesn't cover a few things like brakes, buttons, seals. But from what I've been told its well worth the $$$ and as long as your shops mod friendly it should be good.

This subject has been beat to death around this forum...

The majority of people that are good with money, actually understand their finances, and how dealers make money off of warranties, will tell you IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY!

Then there are the people who Spent the money, realize how foolish they were, then defend the warranty till death.

Bottom line, odds are, you will never get full return on your investment if you buy the warranty.

I have a 2009 with a lifetime power train warranty. Free of charge. Last year to be included in the purchase I think. It requires a checkup (which is also free) every 5 years from the purchase date.

The warranty in not transferable.

jeep.com has an owners section. Input the vehicle year and make to find the appropriate .pdf

There was also a bumper to bumper warranty offered for a significant piece of change. I know nothing about that one.

I didn't pay for my warranty. Well atleast it wasn't listed on the invoice. And have already used it once. For the most part, I agree with you. Unless your the next one who needs it. So unless you develope good clairvoyancy skills, the safe bet is to have one.
