Funny, I was in Puerto Rico a few weeks ago visiting my family and noticed that one out of 10 cars is a JK! There is a LOT of them in the island.
Streets are in so bad shape that I wonder why doesn't everybody there drives a Jeep.
If I had a local 4x4 store, I would carry more stuff for the JK but then everything is so expensive in the island that is always better to order online.

i was looking for driving lights to install on windshield... i found a pair stuga brand (whatever that is it) @ 90 bucks without any harness, switch or anything just the damn lights...
here we have lots of wranglers(olds and new) lots of them have cool mods and are very off-road prepare but only some dare to hit the trails and mud.
i was talking to my friend to do a local "offroad" store but one that doesn't sell all chrome and crappy generic stuff. today between me and my friend that kind of store would have sell about $1000
btw were did you stay? did you did some offroading?
next time pm me and we could plan something

I think what cracks me up is that everything on the JK is more expensive than anything for a YJ or a TJ.
Can't wait till something newer comes out and the cost of parts on these JKs hits the floor

Funny you say that. I needed shocks for my JK and I called a few of those so called 4x4 shops. Nothing for a lift, actually nothing even for stock. Was a waste of my time ended up ordering from Northridge... Jeep sat motionless for a week because of that.
I guess I am lucky. There is a large local shop (OK4wd) just 4 miles from me, they stock alot of Jeep parts becuse the owner and a few of the guy's who work for him are into Jeeps.
But I still get some things on line, not any one shop sells everything.
I found that David at Northridge 4X4 is great to deal with, and have bought a few things from Quadratec.......

there is only one shop near me (metro area) that sells most parts for jk or wrangler jeep, but some times they are too expensive or they have to order and ends up same price if i order online and it is delivered to my home(witch i prefer)
i have only bought locally the cargo liner and it was like 10 bucks more expensive than online and shipped but i prefer things at the moment when i want them. everything else has been online (ebay, quadratec, 4wd)

That's the norm. If the local 4x4 shop carried in stock all the stuff everyone needed it would be a warehouse. Even the online off-road vendors often drop-ship from the manufacturer.
