I ordered the lod 2dr rock sliders back in april, april 22 to
be exact. When i ordered i was told that it would be 4 weeks.... i wish. They also said they would send a shipping confirmation. As the days came closer i decided to send them a pm on here, never got a response. i then decided to call and was told they would ship may 22 and they would be here in three days. 3 days later nothing. i called again and they said it would be there that friday. again nothing. i sent an email and called several more times. every single time they said they were shipping it that day. i got back from the beach today and once again expected to see them and i didn't. i called and they said they had been shipped and they gave me a tracking number. i checked it and they had been sent out earlier today. i have an offroad trip scheduled for wens. and there is no way they will get here in time. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. JK-Forum.com has a blacklist for dealers that have used bad business practices. this isn't the first time i have heard of stuff like this from LoD. i would tell anyone that is thinking about buying from them not to. if you do buy from them don't expect to recieve your order anytime soon or to get any straight answers if you call. I am very dissatisfied with the service i got and upset about the whole ordeal.

Sucks waiting for parts. I wish vendors would just be honest about availability and shipping dates. I'm sure everyone on here has had similar issues with one or another. Reminds me of the 4 months I waited for my Jeep to be built!
I ordered my sliders from LoD on April 13. I was told the same thing....4 weeks. Well, they finally sent them out on June 4th and I checked the tracking and it will be here tomorrow. LoD may not be the fastest but I here their products are top notch! Also, Chris was a pleasure to deal with! Granted, waiting for something after they tell you is being shipped on one day and in reality it doesn't DEFINITELY sucks but like the saying goes..."Good things come to those who wait". Hopefully, you'll be so pleased with your sliders that you will overlook the long wait it took to get them! I'm still waiting for my front and rear bumpers but I think it will definitely me worth the wait.
You have to remember that you are not dealing with large companies with specific dedicated production lines and shipping departments. With few exceptions (smittybuilt, rugged ridge, etc) most companies that support the JK's are like this.
Because they have low volume they are not the top priority of their suppliers and they may not have all of the different metal forming machines in house either. They may have been told the parts would be in a certain day and face the same disapointment you are when it does not happen. That is the price we all have to pay in order to have a huge number of aftermarket parts to choose from. There are not enough modded JK's in the world to support such a huge number of companies in a way that they are as organized as a fortune 500 company. I work for a fortune 500 co and that is not saying much by the way. Also companies like LOD and Shrockworks will not knowingly ship any products if there is a known defect like a scratch. This too may delay shippment. That cannot be said for "Made In China", heck they put lead in our kid's toys. Also LoD makes custom crates for their products using 2x3's not just cardboard. I would bet it took 30 minutes to make just the crate for my sliders, once again it takes time to be top notch.
If you have a specific deadline and want a part in an exact timeframe you probably will need to stick to something 4-wheel parts has in stock like the smitty's. Many people have their products and are happy. I have a Rugged Ridge front stubby in the mail. I went with LoD for the sliders because there was nothing else like them out there and I would do it again.
When I received my sliders I called Chris @LoD like 5 times. He was always great on the phone and almost always picked up the first try.

To me, quality of the product is worth waiting for... There are numerous "Murphy's Law" things that could happen in making these types of products, they depend on hardware suppliers, powdercoaters, tube suppliers, etc to get all these things together.
If you want to settle for something quickly made or mass produced, I am sure Q-tec and 4WD.com had a bunch of different rocker guards available on their shelves. But small companies like LOD and Schrockworks need some time to make their stuff. I have seen some of the products and they are great, there is great care and time in making these products.
I will keep on saving for my LoD rear bumper/tire carrier and probably have to wait a few months, but the quality and style of the bumper is my favorite.

I will have to apologize for the wait. Your order has been shipped, these were custom done for your body lift, and took longer than expected. Anyone who has ordered rock sliders has had to wait much longer than we would have ever wanted as there is a lot of cut parts on them and a lot of time in them. We now have a bigger crew here and the lead time should be getting shorter here in the future. Any issues call us an we will do our best to meet your needs.

It is not the waiting that gets me, it is the false statements. If it isn't ready tell me that, not that it is going to ship the next day. I want quality, that's why i went with them. But i also want honesty. Don't tell your customer that just spent 600 dollars on your rock sliders that they are done and are going to ship if they really aren't.
I am in the middle of dealing with an Issue I have had with an LoD product i purchased, and have emailed numerous times and havent heard anything back either after the one phone call i had wiht them (might have been chris, i never got the guys name). I feel your pain man, its very frustrating when your dealing with such high dollar stuff as LOD sells and there are issues and non responsive replys.
I would love to hear back from LOD on my question
