I throw them into the back behind the seats (I normally have the softtop or a Duster on it), or fold down the rear seats to hold them in place. Usually the former.

Default Little Velcro

Little velcro with a little extra help from either 3M tape or a dab of Gorilla Glue.

My Mopar Slush Mats do the same thing (float about 6 inches off the floor). I saw a thread where a guy made a metal bracket that stuck over the mat to hold it down. It was bolted to the front seat bracket. I just take my back ones out when I take my doors off.

When you first notice it's that windy, pull over to the side of the road and pick up a few good sized rocks to put on top of them. They're free!

Hole punch the mats and attach to the seat frame with carabiners. Really easy to clip in and out to wash the mats and holds them in really well for doorless trips.

I did the same thing with the carabiners, but I mostly use zipties.

I use binder clips. There are enough gaps in the carpet to secure them to. Haven't lost one since.
