tractor company from india are making a non street legal jeep based on the cj7
kinda makes you wonder if it would accept the old jeep drivetrain

There was a detailed analysis of this on Jalopnik. It looks like while many parts are similar and some are compatible, they are almost all different in a meaningful way so much so that they are not a direct swap without some fab or rework. The drivetrain in particular is very similar, nearly identical to the original CJ7 stuff. Why swap new/improved things for old?
