Default Material Hold on Rubicon Wheels?

I have been waiting in BG since 10/17.

I just talked to the area rep's boss and he told me that all Rubicon's are on hold due to problems with the wheels. That was the first I had heard of anything like that and it seems like others on the forum are getting their Rubicons.

Is he just blowing smoke to try to keep me waiting?

Also in BG, waiting for a rubi. Was told by the dealer and by DC there was a material hold. They didn't say it was wheels, though thats as good a reason as any..................................

well heck, why not the wheel now too.

Let's see, there was an issue with the lockers, then the hard tops that were the holdup....but then the hard tops were supposed to have been resolved....so heck, if the wheels can hold it up long enough, and since they have opened up the lockers for other models to be ordered with....by the time they would get the wheels sorted out, we could have a shortage again on the lockers, and come full circle.

I don't think your dealer is being straight with you. I placed my Rubicon order on 10/18. My status went to "D" on 1/9. Here is the code description for BG:

BG – Edit OK; unavailable for scheduling for one of the following reasons:
1. Finance Hold (F)
2. Special material procurement (S)
3. Material restrictions (L)
4. Ineligible P.S.P. date (P)
5. Schedule block/distribution hold

Later,
Tom

PS Have you called Chrysler Group Customer Service to get your order status?

I ordered my X and waited for about six weeks, no movement from BG-L, then I found one on a lot and snapped it up. When I called my salesman to cancel, he told me it was waiting on "the tires" (X w/ S package 16's) -- this was the first I'd heard of this hold, no one on the boards had even mentioned it as a theory.

I don't know if it's true, but I think it's funny that only when I went to cancel that he actually told me what the hold was for. Couldn't get that info out of him or DCX for weeks before that.

Good to hear some people are getting lucky.

I have been checking inventory locally but so far the closest I could find was a white rubicon unlimited with a 6 speed. I am holding out for silver but I just wish I knew how long it would be. BTW...if anyone wants a white rubicon unlimited call peterson autoplex in Boise, ID.

Yep, I have called them once a week since mid-November. I am now BG-L with no end in sight.
