Looking at the Mattracks website, I got the impression they WERE street legal...it was just that you couldn't run them over 40MPH, so you only really take them out when the roads are complete s***.

Saw the story behind these on the History Channel long ago.

The engineer that designed them pulled the idea from a drawing his 11 year old son (Matt) drew one day.. of a truck with each tire being a tread.

Revolutionary.

Gotta love the 11-year-old imagination.

They have a smaller model coming soon, hope to buy them!!!

The cops in one of the large and famous ski resorts here in Switzerland (Zermatt) use them. They do have snow and ice on the streets about six months out of the year, if not more.

They are durable and better traction doesn't exist. The price though...
