I am planning on ordering a 4 door Sahara with the Soft Top and I was wondering if there is anyway to strap two 12-ft kayaks to the soft top so they dont fly off or do I need to get the hard top and attach racks? Thanks.

I know on the old tj they made roof racks for soft top.i think it would mount to the windshield and the back bumper and could tilt back out of the way to put the top up or down.I'm sure you will be able to find one soon for the jk.

Until I sold my TJ a few weeks ago  , I hauled my kayak directly on the roof. The footman loop for the windshield tie down on the hood made a perfect anchor point for the bow. The soft top molded perfectly to the yak when cinched down. I had no problems carrying the kayak this way. You will get wet though, if you carry it with the top down!
