DaimlerChrysler AG's Chrysler Group said Friday it will build a $570 million engine factory in Saltillo, Mexico, that will start production in 2009.
The factory will produce the automaker's new family of V-6 engines, dubbed "Phoenix" engines. It will be able to produce 440,000.
wrangler will share the 4.0 V6 Base with the Next Pacifica, Dakota, Ram, Liberty, LY, GC, Wrangler; current Nitro
The Saltillo facility will be Chrysler's second Phoenix engine plant, joining a facility being built in Trenton, near the automaker's existing engine plant.
The factories and the engine program are part of Chrysler's plan to invest $3 billion to develop more fuel-efficient engines, axles and transmissions.

2010 V6s will be 6% to 8% more fuel effiecent
Chrysler believes the new V-6 engines will increase fuel economy by six to eight percent. Reductions in vehicle weight and better aerodynamic efficiency will improve fuel economy by another five percent, according to the company.
