So, how many miles are you getting on your KM2's?
I have the 285 70's and do a fair amount of wheeling and a lot of hwy and have 35000 miles on the tires so far and still have half tread. Yes 35000 and half tread!! Which sucks because I want to upgrade to 35's or 37's but can't till these wear out. Just wanted to see if this is the norm for this tire because I know most mud tires get around 30-40000 miles before they are toast.

So How many miles are you getting?

 

I know somebody has to a comment or two on this......come on let's hear them.

 

Ive got about 25000 miles on my 35's and have a little over half tread left. Of course, I do lots of rock wheeling and higher speed dirt road type of stuff. Oh and I'm guessing mine are wearing quicker due to lots of highway miles at temps well above 100 degrees F.

So yea, you'll get some mileage out of these tires. I want mine to wear too so I can go to 37's.

 

About 10,000 and still like new...

 

Depends on how you drive, brake, and wheel.

But, as I say it, you can't buy an M/T and worry about mileage. You're not getting it for tread life, you're getting it for off-road traction.

And to be honest with you, I have 30k on my PepBoys special Definity M/T and still have approx. 50% life left. How you drive determines a lot.

 

my 08 Rubicon odometer just turned 80k last week, and the factory bfg mt's still have lots of miles left on them. I've ground down street tires faster than these things! the guys at work ask how these have managed to last so long. I just rotate them religiously. and I always rotate the spare.

 

i have 15000 on my Nitto Terra's and i'm past half tread..

 

Mine a chewed from The rocks. But still have good tread depth With 40,000 on them. still at about half the depth from new.

 

I have 35K on my KM1's. They see 1152 miles a month alone in commuting, not to mention the side trips. My tires, while having become quite a bit louder, are still looking good at about 3/4 tread depth. I rotate them every 5K miles and include the spare. I remember reading somewhere that the KM's made for Jeep are of a harder compound, so that they get better mileage than a "regular" mud tire. The trade off is that they are susceptible to damage from rocks that a softer tire would just conform to. I am looking to get KM2's in 255/85R16 when these die, money permitting.
