I've been doing some research and have decided to start from square one. I'm going to try to run 40's with no lift; I haven't got my tires yet; as soon as I get them; I can mount them and start measuring. the reason I'm posting this is I want to get your opinions on what you think of a jk on 40's with no lift; pros and cons; it'll help me in my design; getting opinions from others will help me think of things i didn't think of myself.
Have you seen the "Jeep Lower Forty"? It's basically a JK with some body work and 40's with stock suspension. I have yet to see very many details on it yet but it looks pretty bad ass in the pics. Look it up and it may help. - KY
I like the concept, have kicked around the idea myself (though for more like 35's). The Lower Forty is cool, but after looking at it I don't think it could flex much without getting into the body. Never did see any shots of it disco'd and flexing, more of a dune runner type setup IMO.
lower forty was cool but i'm thinking more along the lines of tube fenders for max clearance; and project would be for very low cg. heres a pic of what im going for except for the jk
