Mod my 07 or buy a 2011
Mod my 07 or buy a 2011
In Oct 06 I bought my 07 Sahara Unlimited. Since I have had it, I have said that I would run it until it was dead, maybe doing a mod here or there. After 4 years and $38K, I am contemplating a new set of shoes, which will set me back anywhere from $1K to $2K.
So last week, the dealer is running an oil change and tire rotation special I cant pass up. While it is being done, I walk the lot and check out the 2011 Sahara very nice.
I have a decision to make - improve my current ride or trade in for the 2011 Sahara.
Optioned the way I want it, the 2011 would be about $32K. I think I can get about $20K on a trade for mine. For about $12K, I would be getting:
Warranty
New JK with almost no miles
Some more creature comforts and convenience items
More comfortable cockpit the 2011 has a slimmer dash, so my knee does not hit it when I drive Im 66.
What I am giving up:
33s in the next 6 months
Lift in the next 12 or so
Half doors in the next 24
Last but not least - $12K
Thoughts?

Have you had any issues with your 2007?
I've had several Jeeps, typically most of them have had there line up of contituous issues, transmission / electrical problems, etc....once I own one that is solid & reliable, I tend to value that more then trading in for something that might be better because it's new and has more features.
This is just me though and my Jeep history....I'd be pissed if I traded a perfectly good JKU that has treated me well, and then get a brand new one that develops little issues here and there.....not to say that would happen, but just something to think about.
