Just a poll on whether people have done most of their own mods or paid a shop to have them done. I like to do my own work where possible, so if it is f**ked up, I have nobody to blame but me. So far I have done everything on my Jeep (except mounting/balancing the tires). My knuckles have lost some skin.

Do it yourself, it is the only way you will learn about your Jeep, I have done everything except the gears

I highly reccomend doing installs yourself. I feel like I get better aquainted with my Jeep that way. Obviously, if a project is too involved for your skill level and you feel very uncomfortable, then by all means take it in and have it done professionally. Just research your project before hand to find out everything you need to know.

Paid someone else and it doesn't bother me at all.

I don’t have the tools, experience or space to do the work.

I have a 3” Full Traction premium lift installed by a professional. I have never once had a problem with the lift and that includes having my ESP kicking on at unexpected times. If I had tried to do it myself it would have taken far too long and I’m sure I would have had problems that I would not have known how to fix.

Personally I have no desire to do the work on my Jeep. My wrenching days are over and I will gladly pay someone else to do the work, and I do not feel less of a “man” for making that choice.

Yes, if I break down out in the field I will try to figure out how to get it rolling and limp it into town. If I can’t get it rolling then I’ll pay to get it towed and properly repaired.
