Default Modified Jeep insurance

So this will be my first time building a vehicle that is extensively modified and I was wondering how you guys have your rigs insured to ensure that you have the most coverage. I called and talked to my insurance agent and he kind of made it seem like you can't really do anything to cover the cost of the mods. I realize that if I wreck it offroad then i'm SOL but I figured since its my daily driver if I were to get in a wreck there should be a way to cover the cost of the mods as well. Or am I completely wrong? If I were to get in a wreck can I just take the mods off that aren't messed up if the vehicle were to get totalled out? Just curious, I figured someone has to have gone through this before with all the cool rigs on this forum.

You should be able too get a rider on your parts if your insurance allows it. Sort of like a separate policy for your extras. Not all insurance companies do it. I would shop around.

Not sure if a company will cover all mods but mine covers 5000 in mods. Sucks that I have like 13000 on mine.

Hagerty is the best in my opinion. I have my 57 and my jeep through them. They ask you the value of your vehicles with modifications. I pay a bit more than I did with state farm but it is worth it.

Car backed into my last bumper and they paid for me to replace everything including a cracked ipf headlight And a new rigid light that broke
