Default Mom and One-Year-Old Baby Die in Jeep Off-Roading Accident

In an off-roading expedition gone terribly wrong, a 22-year-old Florida mom and her one-year-old baby died of carbon monoxide poisoning after the Jeep they were passengers in got stuck in the mud.

Oh god that is awful. Am I wrong for thinking a 1 year old is too young to be bouncing around off-roading?
Prayers to the family though. What a shame

I read that this weekend.horrible story. Wonder why he decided it would be a good idea to take a baby. Every time I go out I encounter situations when I question bringing my eight year old. The possibility of being stuck ,rolling over ,or even breaking down are very likely. Why endanger a kid. Hate that happened hopefully people will learn from this

This article makes it sounds like he was wheeling alone... All the news releases I read earlier this week said he had friends with him who he tried to get the vehicle out with. If that is the case its creating needless drama for a guy who is obviously going to be going through a rather difficult time. Sad to hear regardless, but just like in snow storms you should make sure your tailpipe is clear if you are stranded. So a lesson to be learned and reminded about.

Very sad. I'm always careful to crack the windows a little on the occasions I sleep in the Jeep for the same reason.

I think we should all keep in mind that this accident had nothing to do with the age of the child. It was just a horrible accident that took the lives of the child and the mother.

Prayers and thoughts to the family. I can't imagine what he's going through right now.

Angry Correction: Five months old, not a year old

Most of the media got this wrong, but little Brayson was only five months old (born in October) and was in a rear facing car seat. After safely exiting the vehicle, Taylor, the infant's father, tried to move the car from the mud, but it was covered up to the door handles. The windows were rolled up and the engine was running -- STUPID. That's what is so needless -- turn the engine off! Anytime the exhaust is covered -- mud, sand, snow, whatever -- the CO2 goes back into the car. And no, I don't think it was appropriate for a five month old, with its weak neck, to be bouncing off road. That activity is best for adults.
