Hello all and thanks for all the useful information. Being the proud owner of a very well modified 99 TJ I decided he needed a brother. Little did I know when I started my quest, but it is nearly impossible to find an Unlimited Rubicon. Even harder to find one in black loaded with everything. After talking to every dealer in Northern California I finally found one in Walnut Creek. Called and talked to a Salesman and he told me it was still there. Made the drive, did the test drive and decided that jeep was mine....So I start negotiating with the salesman and he is going through the usual car dealer stall and game playing. Next thing I know he comes back to the room and tells me he has some bad news. He tells me that another buyer came in and agreed to pay more then $6000.00 over MSRP...the jeep is sold. Now I am not only pissed but more determined then ever to find the JK that I want. So, I go home and start entering different zip codes in the dealer locater on the Jeep website. I locate the only other Black Unlimited Rubicon in CA, in Costa Mesa, near LA. I call Orange Coast Jeep and talk to a great salesman named Tony. We negotiate a very good deal over the phone, despite the fact the the sales manager was a little nervous about the whole thing. He faxes me the sales contract and my son and I catch a flight on Saturday and in 3 hours I am driving back up I 5 with our new toy. Made it home by 2:30 am.
Needless to say, I am happy I did not have one of the local dealers order me one and wait 8 months to see it. Thank you Orange Coast Jeep and Tony. It was a pleasure doing business with you.
I have already ordered new bumpers, winch and a lift and will post pictures as I go.
