My Clutch
Well, I posted awhile back about the fiasco I had with Chrysler/Jeep. I was driving the Jeep, and the slave cylinder rod popped out of the cylinder and all the way forward permanently engaging the clutch. It also spewed fluid out of the front of the cylinder onto the clutch, eating the pressure plate side of the clutch to shreds. So Jeep wouldn't warranty the clutch because of the mileage, (clutch 12mos/12k miles) and told me that even though the warrantied part caused the clutch to self destruct, they weren't payin' for it. So, they replaced the slave and then left it up to me to tow the vehicle back to the Garage Mahal, or they would replace the clutch for a mere 1200. So after I used all my restraint to not get all 70's cop on the service writer and give him a wooden shampoo job with my baton I had the Jeep towed back to my place. After I removed the trans, the inside of the bell housing looked like a cat had crawled up there and was shredded. The clutch on the pressure plate side was metal on metal, the plate as well as the clutch where obviously shot. So I tracked down a clutch kit and replaced it myself. I just though I would share a picture of said clutch that I took out. Actually just the pressure plate
