Quote: It seems to me that people in stock jeeps never wave and people in modded jeeps always wave.
I agree with that . Occasionally a stock will wave but always modified jeepers wave

I will admit that sometimes I don't see a fellow jeep until last minute cause I was in la la land and then felt like a douche after I saw him wave and passed me.

I will just extra wave for the next jeep!

Quote: This thread is awesome. It started out as some good humored fun on why certain Jeeps wave. Now its a hostile attack if opinions differ. Everyone needs to take a deep breath and chill the f%$# out. I'm gonna wave whether your modded or not and help you on the side of the road whether your a Jeep or not.
This board is loaded with trolls. No matter what you post you get attacked for all kinds of stupid reasons.

Quote: While driving around in my JK I have found that I almost never get the "wave" if I have my top and doors on. However once the top is down and doors off, almost every jeep I see waves.
Could it be that a JK is not considered cool till the top and/or doors come off?
Could be some people are just oblivious! Roll on and enjoy!

Yet another example of a non-waver JK driver but this is just sad....

So I'm driving down the road and spot a 4D JK top down and all and see his license plate says "OUR JK" at this point I'm thinking he's definitely gonna wave... so I drive up next to him at a stoplight and give him a big ole jeep wave and.............nothing, at the next stoplight I again wave, finally he notices........... and precedes to give me a funny look and looks confused and shakes his head..... For fucks sake his license plate says "OUR JK"..... I couldn't be more disappointed.

Quote: Youre 10 years old. Am I right?
Ya know bud. I don't even know where I could begin. I am not an original "WW2 Jeeper" as you stated. I am not. I am not even going to begin to pretend that my owning of a JK puts me in even the realm of soldiers marching (or driving) into near certain death, in a war - to protect a way of life.. It would be absurd.

But, having owned a TJ and driven YJs - JKs and earlier jeeps just aren't the same. Period. You wanna act like driving to the 7-11 in your JK is the same as driving down a fireroad in a CJ......

I am sorry to have to admit, at least partially because I didn't want to admit that they would be on this board, that there is a #3 reason/person that doesn't wave, and personally I don't want to wave TO. And this is the DOUCHE. The person who simply DOES NOT GET IT to an absolute extreme. The person that would drive by another stuck 4x4, and even a JEEP, because that person does not have the requisite STICKERS that are oh so cool in town and at the bar. Because their 3" lift is oh so much cooler than the other guys 3" lift. Sigh. I don't even know how to begin - your attitude is the main reason I loathe TJ drivers in general - they don't give a shit about the outdoors, the path, the trail. No, their identity is somehow validated by their vehicle. Because they drive a vehicle the dealer told them was an EXTREME OFF ROAD MACHINE!!!!!!. They are somehow extreme and badassed. They would drive by the kid in a 1984 Bronco II and laugh about how cool they were, maybe post it on their macbook. That isn't me. I would stop. I would spend that 30 minutes helping the kid out - because it is the trail that matters, not the stickers. I love my Jeep, I really do. But a great deal of the reason I love it is because I can drive through a puddle, put the top down, etc, etc. That isn't something that is "gotten" by someone who's main interest in the Jeep is posting pics on facebook. It just isn't. My vehicle gets me places, it isn't a status symbol. I don't know how to explain the obvious. I like my JKL because it is a better TJ and gets me to the middle of nowhere in more comfort. Something tells me you like your JK because your facebook buddies and drunken bar friends think it is "uber cool" (but not as cool as a Hummer. doh!)

To be honest - I don't think you CAN get it.

And to answer your question, no I am not 10 years old.

??? Never read so much into the wave thing. Always thought the idea was simple, I wave to anything that looks like it may see a local trail someday. It's a way of saying if I see you stuck on the trail someday I'll help you and vice versa.....
