Default Need help/Advice possible upgrade to a Rubicon!

Hey all,

So I currently own a 2010 Islander (2dr - surf blue) only 5 months old with 7500 miles on it. After reading tons of threads here I have been really regretting not going with a Rubi.

Anyway I found an 08 (4dr - Silver) Rubi with 25000 miles on it and since I have quite a bit of equity in my Islander they would be willing to trade up pretty much even. My monthly payments and terms of the finance would not change. Im having a very hard time finding a reason to NOT take this deal. It would be like modding my current rig for nothing and getting more room out of the deal as well which comes in handy being I have 2 children.

To be honest the only problem im having is in the short 5 months I have grown rather fond of my jeep and second I like my color better (I know kinda petty). But as I mentioned the ups clearly outway the downs. Can anyone give me a reason to NOT do this?

Thanks for the help!

I don't think I can help you. I can't think of one reason to not make the deal. But then I have wanted a rubi since the first time they started making them, one of these days.

i dont own a rubi.. but if the car you are the first owner you know the complete history of the car.. you will be better keeping your islander and built it from the ground up !

Default For what its worth...

Make the trade and have fun. If you've wanted the Rubi, get this one. Trust me, with a family you'll love the room in the four door. Plus, silver doesn't show dirt as much.

If it was me I would make the trade no question about it. I am in the same boat as you too. I love my Sahara but kick myself for not getting the Rubi out of the box. I have been contempalting doing something similar myself. Considering my Sahara is bone stock. It would help alot already having the D44, lockers, elec discos. Just less I would have to invest in down the road..either way you have a Jeep, just drive it and have fun and make the best with whatever you have.

I traded my 08 X for a 2010 Rubi, I like it but I probably would have been further ahead building up my X instead of trading it. Do love my rubi though!

If your gonna do it, do it now before you do any mods on the islander. Either that, or trade up to a 2011 Rubi from the dealer...

Yeah glad I havent done anything to the islander at this point. Im gonna go check it out in person and go from there.

Id love to be able to get a brand new Rubi but cant afford it. The only reason Im even considering this is because it would literally cost me nothing. Just sign over my jeep for the Rubi and voila instant mods including one I couldnt do at any point with going from 2 door to a 4 door

Thanks for all the advice. Ill let you know what I decide but you're correct either way I have a jeep so I cant lose!

Just take a look at the Rubi and see how well she has been taken care of. If the skid plate is clean get it if you want it.
