I run conventional 5w-30 in the winter, and 10w-30 in the summer. My 3.8 sounds and runs better with thicker oil. I've read way too many oil burning issue threads along with engine failure all related to 5w-20 oil.

I have been running Castrol 5w20 in my 2011 since I purchased it in December 2010...... I have never had a problem with knocking or anything else.... Very pleased with it

Time will tell, it has 34680 miles right now and still good........

Mine has 44,500 on Castrol Syntec 5-20 and it's still perfect.
