Hmmm I would suggest putting the front and rear axle on jack stands, put it in 4wd and let it idle. That would make it easy to determine where the sound is coming from. Also because you only hear it when moving in 4wd that restricts it to parts that only move when 4wd is engaged. As I understand it because you don't have locking hubs your axle shafts will always be turning if your moving and I would assume it would also turn the internals in the diff, as well as your front drive shaft to a degree. The more and more I think about it, it seems to be the transfer case that could be your issue. Now I am NOT a mechanic or driveline expert so take everything I say with a grain of salt. But near as I can figure the t case seems to be the issue.

It sounds like it's the tcase, when not in 4wd your front axels/driveshaft/diff all still rotate, so since you are only hearing the noise when in 4wd and moving the assumption would be it's tcase... But like previously stated I'm no expert just my .02

I was going to reply to this last night but I forgot, I actually can hear some "clunking/grinding" noise when in 2wd, but usually only when im driving slow in like a parking lot, or when turning and going slow. I cant hear or feel it going down the highway. I'm leaning towards the axle shaft on the side that took a hard curb check being damaged, or a front axle bearing, maybe a pinion bearing, but hopefully not the T-Case!!!

All that being said, I really do think it has something to do with the axle shaft, not just because I don't want it to be the T-Case LOL. I will find out soon I guess, I take her in on Friday for the repair and mods. Ready to get it over with (the shoveling out of my wallet that is).
