So here is the deal... I can afford to either get a 07-10 JKU that is already lifted (or a stock one and lift it) or I can afford to buy a brand new 2012 JKU and it will be at least a year before I can do any mods to it... So what do you guys think?

Go for the '12 especially if it is going to be your daily driver. Then get the mods YOU want, in the priority order YOU want. There is a certain level of FUN from doing mods and it also serves to make it YOUR jeep. "It's a Jeep thing"
A 2012 JKU is a capable vehicle, even more so if your going for the JKUR; which is very capable.
Either way (new or "mod'd" used), enjoy your "new" Jeep!

Go with the 2012...at least you will be starting with the new motor for the base of your rig. It is well worth it to get it and wait a little while. JMHO.

so far im leaning towards getting a 2012 JKU. Just not sure if I am going to jump on the brand new wagon, or wait a couple months and see what pops up in the used market. After reading literally 100's of people say how much better the new motor is, I'm hooked.
