Default Need some opinions

I just bought an Islander Edition 2010 Unlimited and I want to modify it but my husband says no because doing so will kill the resale value of the Jeep based on the edition. Personally I don't really care about the Islander Edition, the only obvious way to know is the damn Tiki idols on the seat covers. I like the blue inset but hate the Tiki Idol. The Jeep itself is Black and has no other identifiers.

At this time all I want to do is add a light bar with extra Warn remote fog lamps, since getting a new bumber is too expensive right now. I am alos thinking about a new rear bumper, tail light guards, mostly insignificant changes but I also know that the more I do the more I will want to do.

Please discuss.

It's a jeep, the hell with worrying about resale lol... Your biggest concern should be which mod

Yeah, mod that thing!

I don't think mods kill the resale value but you typically won't get what you spent on mods out of it. They still maintain their value though.

This. It's not like you are modding a pristine DeLorean.

It's what you do....buy it- then start working on it. Mine was being lifted and tires 12 hours after I bought it. And I have to say....it's a lil odd for the man to say "don't mod it" and the wife wants to. Talk about classic case of role reversal. If y'all have problems then there ALOT guys on here that'll be more than happy to provide you a good home!! *no offense*

Mod it!!!! worry about the resale value when you decide to sell and if you find the right buyer it can keep its value the same as when you bought it or just take it off and then sell the jeep.

No offense taken, he just doesn't understand. Go figure. I am in the military and he doesn't understand that either. I love him though.

Get a new husband!!

Just kidding, mod it and worry about resale later. You can always save your existing parts and swap them out when you trade...

Long story short he used to drive a Chrysler 300, very nice. Now he drives a P.O.S. Chevy truck, diesel.
