never again..4wdhardware & smittybilt
just need a chance to vent. in june 2007 i ordered smittybilt classic rock crawler bumpers for my JK. ordered from 4wdhardware. waited...waited..waited. both companies kept stringing me along. every time i would contact 4wd or smittybilt it was the same story.."just another month or so. . to make a very long story short, i talked to Curt at 4wd yesterday and he said "maybe get them in july". they have had to redesign and retool the factory, the price should be 'nearly the same ' as originally quoted when ordered. don't worry".then i called smittybilt, they said they had to re-design..price will be nearly 4X the original.!!!
needless to say, i will never buy another smittybilt product or make an order from 4wd hardware EVER AGAIN!! just to say, i have been waiting for nearly a year for these bumpers, in that time i could have ordered any other brand from any other vendor...i tried to be patient.NO MORE!

The aftermarket has not done well as a whole with the JK. It is a damn shame that so many folks have waited for gear they could not deliver. I would of thought this long into the run on the JK that they would be up to speed.
Good luck, I am sure you will find something you like

I know Curt really well, He's not the kinda of guy to bullshit you, They are at the mercy of smittybilt. He was just going on what smittybilt told him..
The Jk's opened the market up, it seems every company is having a hard time keeping up with the demand.

The sad thing is that market demand for JK accessories is making many aftermarket companys more prone to rush out sub-standard products without performing real world R&D...Rugged Ridge being one of the most notorious imitators of other company's poorly designed products. Talk about selling cheap imitations based on equally cheap and sub-standard rushed to market caca by so-called reputable companies, so they can get all that easy cash from the poorly informed and inexperienced offroad dilitante.
