Default Never modding again

Long story short I finally got enough money to buy wheels and tires. Bought them on the web because of the pricing compared to local guys. No one will mount and balance them. There either to big or the wheels have bead locks or some bull$hit. Finally found someone and they want a total of 250 just to mount and balance. THIS IS $HIT.

Sounds like you woulda been better off buying from a vendor who delivers them mounted and balanced. Or factoring in the cost of mount and balance into your total cost.

Did you buy bead locks and not know what they are? Not just anyone will mount bead locks. If you want to save some cash you can mount bead locks yourself there is a video on YouTube. Pain in the rear but you will save some coin.

There are rugged ridge wheels so they have a thousand little screw head that apparently have to be removed before balancing. Tires a 34" nitro terra grappler. No one wants to touch then due to liability. If you hire quaility employees there wont be any issues.

huh ?? if you remove the screw heads and balance the tire/wheel you could IMMEDIATELY be out of balance as soon as you re-install the screws....i smell BS !

if theyre REAL bead locks then you should be able to split the wheel and install the tire yourself.

if theyre FAKE beadlocks then theres nothing to be removed (trim ring) !

Find another shop...the ones youve talked to are being greedy...theyre pissed cause they cant compete w/ internet sales and now they think thats YOUR fault somehow !

i hate these all or nothing shops....if they wanted the tire & wheel biz then they should be prepared to compete....they should be glad youre giving them a chance to get some labor $ from the mounting !

Those are bolts for the rock rings, LOL.

Take off the bolts yourself and take them back. I got mine done for $145 at the local Goodyear.

Tires and wheels are a mod now? Yeah, Rugged Ridge doesn't make bead locks. They have a trim ring that mounts to make a fake bead lock look but I wouldn't want it off to balance it. It's only a few screws. Any shop that thinks a 34" is a big tire would not get my Jeep in for service. Find one that is used to trucks.

I pay about $15 / tire to mount and balance when needed. Local shop and I run 35's.. Literally takes 20 minutes for them to do that for you. Shop around.
