Default New JK

So I got my new JK and love it...100%

Some things I found interesting:
1. The 2010 User Manual has an image of a Detenator Yellow Jeep on it - strange, you can't buy a 2010 Detenator Yellow JK...

2. No Auto-on headlights? Not that I care, but it seems strange for 2010

3. The Owners Manual DVD is not a replacement for a full paper Owners Manual. For instance I was installing my kids car seats and there was no mention of it in either user or owner manual dvd. I know how to do it but wanted to see if there was anything specific for the JK, anyway - thankfully we have this site.

Congrat's from me, too, svalvasori!

As for how to put the windshield down: That's covered in the 2007 manual. Funny that they dropped it out. Anyway, download the 2007 manual and use that procedure. Also, there's a good YouTube video that will take the manual and help it make more sense. And, an hour into the task I decided to stop, and have never tried again. So, if you put it down, well, you may want to keep it down for a while just to make the effort worth it.

You can activate the daytime running lights (DRL) by going to the dealer (for a fee) or with AEV Procal. You can actually activitate every factory light on the front for DRL.

Thanks for the info Spinlock - I was thinking more along the lines of when it gets dark out, most vehicles turn on the headlights on their own. But really it doesn't bother me, just a surprise.

Power windows and locks are a recent addition to the wrangler. I think it may be some time before they add automatic on headlights. And I'm sure there are plenty of guys out there who wouldn't even want them. I wouldn't mind.

Yeaaah, ... I get your point now.
That's a little more automation/luxury than Jeep is willing to provide for now, probably because most of us wouldn't understand the technology.

After all they did offer us the option of power door locks, Nav, leather seat covers and the Chrome group. Easy does it. One step at a time.
