Default New rag top for wrangler

This past weekend i was invited to participate in a market research survey to check out a new top for the Wrangler. it was a rag top that was installed on a 4 door wrangler. with one touch the rag top would slide all the way to the back or the top can be moved all the way froward. now it was still a hardtop just the center was the rag top and the entire top still coulbe be removed.

seems like they want the wrangler to appeal to more people then just offroad enthusiast.

what do you think?

Sounds like the top offered on the Liberty. Is it still fully removable?

Sounds like another leak prone top to me!

It seems like they're headed in the wrong direction with their tops. How about improving the ones that they currently offer instead of thinking of new designs??

Hey, its all just part of the 'charm' of owning a Jeep! You want a smooth one hand top that doesn't leak??....buy a Miata!

the group was hired by Chrysler to do the research and no pics were allowed to be taken. they said that was the biggest issue people asked about was leaking and the durability. the only other thing the jeep had was leather two tone seats gray with black in the middle.

Sounds a lot like the Liberty's sky slider roof.

If it's simple, durable, and can be done quickly, then I'd be interested. The Freedom Panels are a pain. This would allow you to open the roof at whim and not have to worry about where to store it. But keep it manually operated.
