New soft top installation
Replacing my soft top. I'm getting it done at the dealership I bought my jk from. For standard sunrider soft they're charging approx 1200 plus 500 labor. They pushed the premium sunrider soft top on me, along with the predictable mechanical work they want to charge you for, but I'm going with the standard and saving 600 bucks. What are your experiences with either top?

The premium is worth the extra cash. You can buy that top for $500-700 on Craigslist and installation for $500 is rape. You need to call the police now.
And this is from experience. I removed the top from my 2010 and put on a top from a 2013. I also installed a newer top on my TJ, it's more work than the JK but again- still within reach of your average backyard mechanic.
If you can rotate tires then you can install a new top.

I just got a brand new premium off Craig's list for my jku. It's by far the best top I've ever had on my 5 jeeps. Come to jersey we can have a few beers and I'll install the top for u for free. They are totally raping u. Please don't let them install it. It's only 4 tork screws to mount the top to the roll bar and then add the door surrounds and your set. Once the hard top is off it should take about 1/2 hour to put the top on completely with the windows. Good luck man.

^^^ This. I got my soft top off of Craig's also. Brand new still in the box with all of the mounting hardware. Dude never bothered putting in on. You can find them going for $450-$600 easy.
I paid $525 for a premium one that was never used. The guy just wanted it gone. Premium ones sell for about $1200-$1400 brand new off Craig's. Standard tops go for about $400-$800. I got super lucky with my deal. It was so good that I didn't even ask the wife, I told her lol.

Of course I was skimming through Craigs a couple weeks after and there was one selling for $500. It is what it is.
Yeah that's a good deal. I felt I lucked out too getting the premium for $600. I probably could have talked him down but I was fine paying $600. He didn't have a garage so he had the soft top with the factory tape still on it sitting on the floor next to his dining table. He just wanted the damn thing out of there lol. Yea my boxes were still sealed up and so was the top. Just sitting on the shelf in the garage. He actually only wanted $500 and I threw him an extra $25 for holding for me for a few days till I
Got up to his house.
