Cool Newbie here with a few questions

First I want to say thanks to all you guys on this forum. I learned allot here before I bought my new Jeep. I had an '89 model about 12 years ago so I am not new to Jeeps. I am officially back into them. I just got a '07 Unlimited Rubicon with dual tops in Jeep Green Metallic. I love it, these things have come a long way. It is still a Jeep to the core, but much more civilized. I think DC did a great job.

So now for the questions. I found this Jeep on the lot at a dealer about 225 miles from me. It was the only Rubicon even close to my area. The dealer even delivered it to me. It did not come with Sirius radio. Does anybody know if I can get the factory parts (RX and Ant) to add it myself to the factory radio? I have the single disk with the AUX input jack.

My second question, The computer in the dash says my average fuel economy is in the 14mpg range. This seems really bad. What kind of milage are you guys getting?

And for the last question. What intake to get. Just looking for your opinions on whats avalible. The little v6 needs a tad bit more guts in the low range.

Thanks again for the help, Looking forward to getting this thing dirty.

Here's some pics.

I added the factory Sirius option to my JK, here's what it involved:

- Swap out head unit for RES w/Sirius ($350) - the dealer gave me a credit on the cost of the radio by trading in the one that came with my Jeep. Otherwise they cost about $475.

- Mopar Sirius antenna ($150) - if you want to do this part on the cheap, a $50 aftermarket antenna should work fine, though you may have to modify the plug slightly. The mopar antenna mounts to the roll bar behind the passenger side, and works great; an aftermarket antenna would probably mount better on the hood or cowl.

Those 2 parts will do the trick. The mopar antenna comes with good install instructions. I'm not sure if the radio comes with install information though-- the dealer swapped mine out.

Thanks for the info, Thats what I needed to know. I was going to get an aftermarket stereo, but this one sounds ok and looks great in the dash. The aftermarket radios never look right, too many fashing lights and the install kits are horrible cheap plastic. I already have a Garmin Nuvi GPS, so I think I will stick with the factory radio equipment.

Wait, now I am confused. I just looked at my unit in the Jeep and it has RES in the lower right hand corner next to the AUX jack. But there is not a SAT button. Do I still need to swap out the radio or do I just need the antenna?
