You might want to start with Jeep themselves:
http://www.jeep.com/en/4x4/glossary/

TeraFlex also has done some legwork:
http://www.teraflex.biz/category/tec...ad-dictionary/

Hope this helps.

pooswa, you should just type a list of words you don't know and ask for defintions. Fill them in as you learn 'em, and maybe you can get a sticky made for the FAQ section.

I think I know what you're going through. There's a thread out there that lists much of the common shorthand you'll see on the forum. Here are a few:

BB: Budget Boost--A lift that uses spacers on the springs to lift the frame and body. Excellent way to get a couple inches of lift and maintain the stock ride (because you still have stock springs). Can be done with replacement shocks (which improves suspension travel), or with stock shocks and adapters (which limits suspension travel).

BL: Body Lift--A lift that uses spacers between the frame and body. Provides additional clearance (for tires primarily ) when just a BB won't do, but exposes the pinch seam.

TF: Teraflex--One of the companies making lifts and suspension components.

RC: Rough Country--Another company making lifts.

DC: Dick Cepek--Maker of tires.

That's a start; others can chime in.

ESP - Extra Sensory Perception.. Okay no, not really. Electronic Stablity Program

BLD - Braking Lock Differentials

D30 (D44's, D60's, etc) - Axles. Dana 30, Dana 44, Dana 60, etc. Dana being the company, the number being the size of the axle.

disco - an 80's cheesy dance phenomenon involving god-awful synthesizer music, colorful lights shined off a mirror-encrusted beach ball, bad big hairdos and terrible fashion.

Oh wait, that was for another forum.

On this one it means to "disco"nnect your front sway bar to allow more articulation while off-roading.
