Default nice discovery at work

i work at a chrysler parts depot in toronto. last night, in an area of the warehouse that stocks slower moving parts i came across a skid of warn xd9000i winches!! it has been there a while because it was heavily covered in crap.

the sad part is they will probably end up getting scrapped and we are not allowed to take one or buy them for cheap for that matter if they are scrapping them. you guys would cry if you saw the perfectly good parts that get scrapped. engines and trannys to sheet metal and everything in between.

shit, i don't even have a winch

do you think i could get one out in my pocket

Default nice find!

Wow...and we wonder why auto makers are in need of money? If you happen to find a way to get one out make room in that pocket for a 2nd

parts get scrapped because of obsolesence, damage and sometimes just plain inventory control. i don't fully understand it but it sure sucks when you see some of the stuff and you can't touch it

Excellent idea. Give the truck driver $100 and tell him to keep quiet. Give him a hundred for me and I'll take one too.

This thread reminds me of the Cash song, "I got it one piece at a time"...

Where do they take them to get scrapped? Make nice with the guy at the scrap yard and maybe you can get them cheap or free.
