Nitto Terra Grappler AT - anyone not happy?
Anyone running Nitto TG AT tires and not happy with them? I had BFG ATs on my TJ years ago and was happy with those. Was planning the same thing for my JK (in 285/75/16) but the local 4Wheel Parts store recommended the Nittos. I don't need a MT.
Looking for opinions on Nitto treadlife, ride quality, etc. I only do light off-roading as this is my daily driver. If you have experience with both Nitto and BFG, which do you prefer? Thanks.

I have them and love them....awsome on the road, great in rain and snow and do e good job offroad too. Very quiet, smooth ride, good cornering. I can't comment on mileage as I only have about 3000 on them.....but I can still see the factory markings on the tread
I'm more or less on the same boat as you. Only I'm also considering the BFG MT's and getting them siped, too.
The reason I'm leaning toward the All Terrains is because they have an extreme condition rating, where I guess they're designed to work in snowy conditions you'd typically use tire chains for.
I'm not sure if this applies to the NIttos though, or if it's a gimmick
. (It seems like the tire salesmen are the ones bragging about this feature, though, and not BFG
)
I'd love to see the AT's and Nittos side by side. It seems they're equal in every other aspect. (how do they compare in price. I have yet to look into prices on either)

Good luck finding anyone that does siping in this area (Boston).
If you want a siped MT, go with MT MTZ, Cooper Discoverer STT, or Toyo MT.
Nitto looks like a good AT. BFG AT or MT ATZ would probably be my other choices.
I have Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo's on our 4Runner and really like them. We got 80k out of our last set. They do well in the snow, but really aren't very aggressive for offroad.

I realize this. I was talking about getting the BFG MT's siped, as an alternative to the Nitto Terra grapplers or BFG AT's. It gets snowy and slushy around here, so I need the extra traction for year round use
