Default No Door removal video guides???

So I've been thinking about taking off the doors for the 1st time on my JK.....fall is approaching and I have one last chance....then I decided.... "maybe it's a good idea to watch how someone else took the doors off, just to pick up a tip here and there to avoid accidental 1st time removal/re-install damage. I'm sure it's not hard....but it's always a good idea to watch someone else do it 1st.

So, I can't find any videos online for a JK's door removal. I found a nice windshield down video, tons of "how to lower the soft top" vids. Has no one really not done a door removal "video" guide? I did find a post on this forum on doing it.....but a couple pictures does not really show enough.

Where's the door removal vids JKers???

Unlatch the hooks, unbolt, unplug, and remove. BUT!!! Watch out for the door swinging completely open and dinging your hood with the rearview mirror... like the rest of us have done.

So easy a caveman can do it.......takes more time to think about it than to actually do it (even doing it carefully). Biggest thing is to find a place to put them afer they are off.

Hurry up the warm weather is slipping away and you will regret not doing it sooner!!

What I'm not sure about is loosing up the bolt/hinge assembly. Is it just a T-50 torque head that just needs to be unscrewed? The door just isn't going to some how come crashing down after I loosen it or anything is it?

it wont fall off after you get the screw out, all i do is just lift up on the door and it comes out of the hinges, it really isn't hard or scary. Don't worry man. Have fun

If you follow the owners manual nothing bad can happen.

There's no physical way the door can fall just because the hinge pins are unlocked. Some people run without the nuts on the end of the pins all the time.

If you're worried about dropping a door, have someone help you the first time you lift the door off the hinges.

Also, gently lube the hinge pins before re-installing the door to make it easier next time.

two tips for you that might help and limit possible damage. ( or limit the possibility of damage).

1) roll down the windows, so you can reach through and grab the inside hand to lift the doors off.

2) the LAST step should be to unhook the limiting strap. If you do it first while you a screwing with trying to get the plugs undone the first time, you'll have a dimple but won't be smiling.

DO IT. There is nothing like it.
