No Power
Please don't take this the wrong way because I'm still a newb in the jeep world but I have been a mechanic for over 20 yrs, with that being said what did you think would happen with 35's. Jeep gears the wrangler for decent performance and decent mpg with STOCK size tires!!! They have no idea what your going to do with it after it leaves the factory, there is no way to make everybody happy, so they strive for a compromise. I have an 08 X with 3.73 and auto trans, it came with 225/75/16 tires that are approx 29", I put 33" Trxus mt on and it drives fine, yes on hills on the freeway it kicks out of overdrive but that is to be expected, I CHANGED THE FINAL DRIVE RATIO, It's not jeeps fault I did that, If i want my performance back I can put 4.56 or 4.88 gears in @ my own expense. Remember jeep has to try to make as many people as possible happy right out of the box all the while trying to meet federal requirements. Uncle sam can be a bitch. All in all i'm very happy with the power I have, in my opinion it had plenty of power in stock trim and is not really lacking with the 33's. But like I said I CHANGED THE FINAL DRIVE RATIO and can't fault jeep for that.

i'm really surprised at the people who complain about mileage in a Jeep, all my 4X4's before this got 10 or less, i think the Jeep gets great for bein' square, 4wd, and heavy --- a Prius it ain't but i can't go muddin' in a Prius ---- so,IMO, if you want MPG get a car - if you want MUD get a Jeep
I'm in the same boat as the poster of this thread. Everytime I try to tow a house, my jeep bogs down and I get crappy gas mileage...He!! it's only a small 4 bedroom house but it has 35's on it!
Picture this..... upnovr has never had a jeep before. He sees the new 4door Jeep wrangler and gets super excited about being a part of the "jeep cult". Probably took it for a quick test drive around the block, but was sold on the idea of being a Jeeper well before he turned the key for a test drive. Once purchased, he did what we all (or a lot of us) are chomping at the bit to do, slapped on some 35's. Now disgruntled/disappointed and frustrated he turns to fellow Jeep owners with far more know how for advice and all I've heard is people tear into this poor guy.
Put the stock wheels and tires back on until you've saved enough for an upgrade. Even then you wont be passing many gas stations.
p.s.- If the above statement is not true and you have owned a jeep before, Its your own damn fault for buying an 08 with that gearing and putting 35's on!!!
