Default Noise from back after hitting tree in reverse.

So i was going about 15mph in reverse and hit a tree. Top passenger side of the rear on the top and also a little on the spare tire. Cracked the top about 5 inches long going from the rear and then on to the top so like an L shape. No other damage. Now when ever I hit a really big bump, I hear something from the back make a huge clunking sound however I cant physically shake the spare or the top, what else could the noise be? I know hard to tell w/ out hearing it. The sound comes from the rear.

15mph in reverse? You could of done plenty of damage at that speed.

Have someone ride in the back seat while looking back there. They may be able to pinpoint the source.

Check and make sure you track bar isn't bent somehow and making contact with your differential when going over bumps. Perhaps you rode up the tree some or there was a branch.

Actually saw this happen when someone backed into a fire pit. We thought it had only contacted the bumper until they drove off.

why were you going so fast in reverse?

But does the clunk/bang sound like fiberglass or metal parts?

Good question, I ask myself that now aswell. It was December and cold as stuff, and I had just parked the feed wagon for the cattle after being stuck and wanted to go home. I was at my parents and it was snowing all day so parked the jeep in the shop. Backed out hauling ass knowing the tree was back there looked in the mirror knowing I was past it and nope I smashed it. Good times.
