$42.00 to change the oil myself in my 2012 jeep. That's crazy.

 

What brand of oil did you use and where did you buy it

 

Pennzoil conventional 5/30 at Oreilys $26.00 5 qt jug $6.00/quart and $7.00 wix filter

 

Mines up there to but i don't think its that high.

I am Going to buy oil today from advance and I will check the price of what I run

 

Just called dealer and they have a deal of 4 changes for $65.00. Good deal!

 

That's a great deal. I know for a fact they would try to sell you something else while your there tho

 

Yeah, the price of a quart of conventional oil has tripled compared to just 10 years ago.

In the past, I would never let someone change my oil. I would always say " $19.95 that's crazy, I can do it for half that". Not any more.

The quickie oil change places can do it a lot cheaper because they are using recycled oil (I know it passes all the maufacturers specs but...)

I lucked out with my new JK. The dealer does the first 4 oil changes free.

I don't know any shop that wouldn't try to sell you something else. Thats how they stay in business. But back on track, that doesn't sound too expensive for an oil change.

 

Ah that's not expensive for a change at all...Not sure what the prob here is...

 

Cheaper than mine this weekend I'm at 60 bucks for an oil change!!!!
