So my 2011 jku manual Recommends oil changes every 13000 km or about 8k miles

When do you folks do your changes?

Why would Chrysler recommend 13k then? I'm under warranty maybe I should stick to that schedule

The way mine drinks oil, it would be bone dry by 8,000 miles.

I would change mine at 6000 as recommended in the 2011 owner manual but the change oil light comes on at 5k so that is when it gets changed. Changing the oil at 3000 was a recommendation from the days of carburetors and is not necessary with fuel injected engines that don't put raw fuel into the cylinder ( flooding ).

I've been doing mine every 5000km. Sometimes I go wheeling a couple times a week so I do it more often. I don't think it hurts to do it more often than they recomend, just don't do it less. My stealership also recomends I do it every 5000km, but thats just cause they want my money.
