Default One week to go

Paycheck comes next friday, and I'm going right from work to buy my Jeep finally!

First off thanks to everyone here for all the awesome info and answering all my stupid questions.. so now I have a few more

going back to the original dealer and if someone doesn't buy it before me, I'll be getting a rescue green X unlimited. Auto, black appearance pkg, limited slip rear dif, infinity 7 speaker radio and a hard top. $26,185 MSRP. I'm hoping to talk them down to at least 25k, even less if possible. My trade in they already valued at 7k last time I was there 2 months back. I have crappy credit though, so my APR will be a little high, which is partly why I'm going with the X instead of Rubi or Sahara.. that and I just don't think I need all the extra goodies.

I really want the rescue green, it's my favorite JK color right now, and this is the only one they have. So that's the main reason I'm picking this one.

This one also has 16" tires.. does that mean they're generic and cheapy..? they're "P225/75R16 BSW On-/Off-Road Tires" .. I know nothing about tires other than they're usually black and round. should I go for one that has 17"? I don't expect to do any offroading anytime soon as it will be brand new and I never did it before and I'll be scared of breaking my new toy.. later on down the line I can see me getting into it on more of a beginner level. There's a local club I considered joining, blue mountain jeep club.. and they do beginner stuff so I may hook up with them. A buddy of mine is also an avid jeeper too so I hope to get my training wheels off sooner rather than later

on the online sticker, it says it comes with the soft top under "exterior features" .. but then under Optional it says hard top... so does that mean it will come with both? is it a dual top? I've seen other stickers that actually say dual top group, and this doesn't. Yet it still lists both.

And last is the limited slip. Like I said I don't expect to do anything hardcore, but who knows what the future holds. Will I be good with just the limited slip, or is it really better to go for the full one, even if I may never do any rock climbing? I expect to use 4WD in the winter snow more than I'd use 4WD for offroading, so will either matter for that?

OK I think that's it for now.. I'm sure I'll think of something else to add later...

Hey necros that jeep just has a hard top, when it lists the hard top seperately fr approx $690 then that means it replaces the soft top, it lits the soft top under standard, then the hard top under options.

Good luck and if you want a really good and easy search to see if any other dealers around have a rescue green use the tool on this link. I know there are a ton of Jeeps here in NJ.

Hey I dont know if you saw it or not but there is a Meet and Greet in NJ at Coleman jeep tomorrow 5/3. You should go you might be able to get e great deal, then just go back next friday to pick it up

check out this search tool, I just did search and found 13 dealers with Rescue green jeeps within 50mi of you.

When it comes to price, this economy is on your side. Any price in the vicinity of invoice is were you should be looking to get.

As far as the wheel/tire combo, don't waste your money on upgrades. The after market has so many more choices and there are plenty of members here selling their wheels and tires after upgrading that you can pick a set of upgraded OEM tires for less than the dealer will charge.

I can't be for sure on the tops but it sounds like you are getting both tops. Easy to figure out, the soft top will be visable since they ship them with both tops, just make sure you get all of the soft top parts, side windows, door frames and rear parts.

Finally with the LSD, since we all seem to need biger tires eventually, you will probably want to re-gear any way. So if your budget is tight, I would wait, no reason to spend money twice.

Now go buy it and start enjoying yourself.

Edit: after seeing MJOLNIR's post I believe he is right about the tops.

Thanks for the info It's the hard top I really want.. I was thinking dual tops but as I'm gonna be moving to a townhouse, storage will be an issue :(

One other thing I just noticed is the one I had wanted doesn't have sirrus listed.. Is that something they can add on usually, or does it have to come from the factory? That's another thing I was really hoping to get.

I want to go back to this same dealer first anyway, they were offering me a decent deal before and the guy was cool, not all pushy like I was expecting.. so I just wanna give them the first crack and if they can't give me the deal I want there's still plenty of others around here
