Is it only 2in???
My jeep's stance sucks... No doubt about it, the X with the small wheels and tires is wimpy... My original plans were to just buy some stock rubicon wheels and tires this summer, but I keep seeing how nice these lifted jeeps here look....
Today I was scoping out ebay, and came across this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-...ayphotohosting
It says it's a 2 inch spacer kit... Anybody beleive that? Or is there more to it?
PS-- Sorry for the link... I'm not sure if it violates the policy, since it's not an accessory....

keep in mind... those are probably 305's or larger tires...
for example:
i had 245's on mine stock (approx 30")
I put 285's on it shortly thereafter (approx 33")
approximately 3" difference... therefore, the tires alone lifted my vehicle approx. 1.5" and in combination with my TF 2.5" BB spacer kit... a total of approximately 4"
so... the point is... yes the lift will put you up pretty nice... but the tires willl finish the package

I agree the tires finish the package, the ebay add says 33x12.5 which looks about right.
I think that is a nice lookin jeep. the rims arent my personnal favorite in style, but the black on red looks good.

Hmm... Maybe I should reconsider this lift thing.... hahaha....
How involved can a suspension lift get? What kind of special tools are needed, if any? What kind of time and labor is involved? What kind of things could go wrong? What about gearing, will that need to be changed????
Off road wise, I wouldn't need anything extreme. I'm having a hard enough time trying to find trails to use, and any I have found really only require me to get some off-road friendly tires. Having a lift, though, may inspire me to find some trouble though.....

EDIT-- here's a pic of the JK with the bigger tires & no lift:

My bigger tires give me 1" more clearance, and I haven't had any rubbing issues yet. Of course, if I went offroading where I have to disconnect my front swaybar, I'd probably have issues... but for the trails I use this on in Maine it's been fine.

my TF 2.5" BB s comprised of coil spacers, shock adapters, and bump stops. All told the job should have taken me 4-4.5 hours ALONE
unfortunately... it was 5:00 a.m. and i did not read the online write up as well as i should have and thus turned a very very very simple task (lining up the front trackbar) into a very annoying, frustrating, and difficult one.
Prior to this job, I have never touch supension on any vehicle and aside from doing the occassional brake and rotor change and oil changes... have not really done much else on a vehicle
It is time consuming... and it is labor intensive... but its worth it.
You will need:
* breaker bar/torque wrench (i bought mine for 10 bucks at harbor freight)
* assortment of socket wrenches and wrenches (if your old school like me... otherwise air tools would be ideal)
* lithium grease (for the bump stops and spacers)
and good jack stands (you will be under the vehicle a good bit)... b/c nothing ruins your day like having you head smashed by a D44.

(seriously, though-- I can imagine the pride of having done it yourself, congrats)
