optima battery question

i walked into the Pep Boys and told him i want a yellow top for my JK, he said "grab that one over there"
I believe they are both the same size, however the 34/78 has both side terminal and top terminal posts. I have also heard it is not a good idea to use them both at the same time (ie running a winch from the side posts) before you get any ideas. I will be getting an optima too as soon as the stock goes.

Good price!
I paid about $45 more, but I get lifetime free replacements. I swapped a dead 7 year old red top for a new yellow top and only had to pay $20 for the upgrade. I own yellow tops in two of my current jeeps and my daily driver toyota PU. I've owned blue tops and red tops as well. My blue top in my JKU died, so I swaped it for a yellow top (for free again). Stick with yellow tops, they are made for the application you want, and will last a LONG time.
Red tops are great if you don't plan to winch. Yellow tops for Winching. Blue tops for boats or a rear fridge in a jeep that may sit there for a while...

Running the stock battery right now. Winch, lots of lights, wheeling, regular use - never had any shortage of power and it hasn't died on me yet. Just wondering why fix xomething that isn't broken? Is the stock battery truly that terrible?
I don't know so I'm asking...
